I live in the real world, not the fantasy world of knitting magazines and photography and there's something I need to admit to myself: I don't think I have enough yarn for this cotton cardigan project and the raveler who has some extra Crystal Palace Breeze hasn't gotten back to me so I'm not sure how soon I'll be able to start this sweater. That's not going to stop me from surfing ravelry to come up with possible cotton cardigan knitting patterns.
What I want: a cotton cardigan with a hood possible with a cable stitch pattern.
Here's what I'm finding:
I don't have enough cotton yarn for this, but I do have a wool cotton blend that would be perfect for this sweater. Maybe next year.
This is a serious maybe. I like how simple this sweater is. I would have to do it in a neutral color.
I think I have the right yarn type and yardage for this sweater, but I'm concerned about all of the lace. Would I be able to actually follow this pattern?
I like this cardigan, but it should be knit with a wool yarn.
Finally, I love this cabled cardi. It's done in Rowan Wool cotton, which I do ow, but I don't love the color I have and I don't know if I have the right yardage. I pretty much love everything about this pattern. The high neck, the button band... Ugh so tempted to give this a whirl, but I know it would make me crazy at the same time. But then I thought the shakespeare cardigan would make me crazy and that turned out pretty well.
Yeah I'm headed to the stash... we'll see what comes out and how many cardigans I'll start because I'm tempted to swatch for at least two of them.
