Too much stuff going on. Getting ready to move. Nursing a cold flu. We're moving in February so I've been busy getting rid of stuff, planning to give away lots of furniture, figuring out what belongs in storage and what just belongs in the trash.
Six weeks from now we will totally vacate the apartment that's been our home for the last four years. Here, we've had two babies, celebrated 6 baby birthdays (4 for one and 2 for the other). As much as I have been frequently frustrated by this apartment I hope that someone will move in who will appreciate it's idiosyncrasies more than I did. It's an apartment meant for two single people, or a relatively new couple. It is not meant for small children.
Husband does have a new job, however they have not been able to get his paycheck to him so this has been a very credit carded-Christmas. :/ We've made the best of it. I was supposed to get a new laptop this year (hence the recent hiatus), but being out of work has put that on hold.
A lot of things this year got interrupted. Husbeast was laid off twice. Once because he didn't want to move to Sacramento and the second time because the company cancelled the project. We feel so lucky that he found a new job. We have friends who have been unemployed for months and others who have been for years.
Youngest son broke his leg, but he finally started eating solid foods and grew and is talking more and more every day... now if only I could get him potty trained!
Oldest son is doing great. He loves his new school and has made many friends. I've made new friends and nurtured old friendships.
The Blog Grows!
More and more people are reading the blog, it's still not a ton relatively speaking. I don't think we'll ever be another Yarn Harlot or the Mason Dixon Bloggers (as much as I love them both), but because of Yarn Along and Year of Projects I've met other bloggers and I'm so thrilled when each and every one of you comments. Thank you for helping me build a little online community.
It's been so busy with the holidays and the boys and getting sick that I haven't had much time for knitting lately, but I'm so proud that I finished two pairs of socks for two of my favorite people and a sweater for myself that I adore. Here's hoping that next year I finish the textured shawl and the Dahlia Cardigan.
