Surely you have seen that the world of knit blogging has lost one of its greats. Kathleen Ricketson of Whipup.net passed away in a tragic accident last week along with her husband, leaving behind two children. Knit bloggers world wide are sharing their favorie Whip-Up posts to celebrate Kathleen's work and to encourage folks to make donations to help her two children complete their education.

Whip-up continues to be one of the most popular crafts blogs. Kathleen's posts were always timely, well written and beautifully designed with exquisite photographs. She was always able to land the most interesting guest bloggers. I admired her work tremendously and freqently wondered how she did it. If you're looking for one of the best examples of a high quality craft blog, Whip-up is a wonderful place to start. I hope that they find a way to continue Kathleen's tremendous legacy.

Kathleen produced Action Packs as part of Whip-up, craft booklets for kids. These were ingenious little pamphlets, full of investigatory crafts that encouraged kids to create and learn.

You can check out all of the Action Pack issues here ranging from water crafts to cooking and holiday celebrations. You'll find something to enjoy with your child -and help two kids in the process. They are $10 and are digital downloads.

Our thoughts are with Kathleen's family and hope that her impact on thousands of crafters offers some comfort.
